Lot 206: A Royal Doulton Porcelain Reclining Poodle Figurine and a Jim Beam Penny the Poodle Whiskey Decanter
This lot comprises two ceramic poodle-themed items. The first is a Royal Doulton porcelain figurine depicting a white poodle reclining upon a light blue cushion with a yellow-painted border. The underside of the figurine features a printed Royal Doulton backstamp in green or black, consisting of a crown above a circular emblem with the company name and Made in England. The second item is a glazed ceramic whiskey decanter produced by the James B. Beam Distilling Company, known as Penny the Poodle. This decanter is modelled as a white poodle standing on its hind legs with its front paws resting on a white ball decorated with blue bands and the word PENN in relief. The dog’s head serves as a removable stopper. Around the base is a gold foil label identifying the contents as Beam’s Trophy, 100 Months Old, 4/5 Quart, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 86 Proof.
Condition report:
Both items are in good overall condition. The Royal Doulton figurine appears free from chips, cracks, or visible repairs and retains a small adhesive price tag on the base. The Jim Beam decanter is structurally sound with the stopper head present. The gold foil label remains largely intact and legible, showing only minor age-related wear to the edges.
