Lot 175: Two Decorative Brass Items Comprising a Blandford Carriage Clock and Fireplace Bellows
A group of two brass-finished decorative items. The lot includes a Blandford carriage clock featuring a rectangular case with a top folding handle. The white dial is set with black Roman numeral indices and is marked with the text Blandford, 1875, and QUARTZ. The second item is a pair of fireplace bellows faced with an embossed brass panel. The repoussé decoration depicts a detailed genre scene with multiple figures in an interior tavern setting, including a prominent female figure, complemented by geometric patterns on the nozzle. The bellows are constructed with wooden handles and panels joined by a dark flexible material secured with brass studs. Small adhesive labels with numbers 7 and 175 are present on the items.
Condition report:
Both items exhibit signs of age-related use. There is visible surface tarnish to the brass components. The carriage clock case shows light surface scuffing. The bellows show significant wear and creasing to the flexible material, consistent with use.
