Lot 170: A Trio of Glazed Ceramic Bird Figurines
A trio of hand-painted glazed ceramic bird figurines. The group features a parrot perched on a blossoming branch, decorated with a red head and breast, transitioning to orange and yellow on the wings, with blue tail feathers. The base is modelled as a branch with small pink and white flowers and green leaves. Accompanying the parrot are two galah cockatoos, finished in a pink and grey colour palette with blue highlights to the tails. Both galahs are positioned on rounded, mossy green bases. No maker marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The parrot figurine shows a notable area of glaze loss on the upper back and wing. There are minor chips or original glaze misses to the small flowers on the branch. The galah figurines appear to be in good condition, although one has an adhesive label attached to the head. Light surface wear consistent with age is visible throughout the group.
