An antique copper warming pan comprising a circular copper pan and a hinged lid. The lid is decorated with hand-chased and hammered repoussé foliate motifs and a central circular design, with several punched ventilation holes. The pan is secured to a long, turned wooden handle by a brass collar and hinge. The handle features two inventory labels: an orange sticker numbered 159 and a white sticker numbered 20.
Approximate length: 100cm – 110cm.
Condition report:
The copper lid and pan exhibit a natural aged patina with areas of surface tarnish and oxidation (verdigris). There are several minor surface indentations and shallow dents consistent with age and domestic use. The turned wooden handle is intact but shows typical wear, including minor scuffing and loss of the original finish. The brass hinge is functional with some structural play.
