Lot 155: A Group of Decorative Ceramics including Jasperware and Floral Porcelain
An assortment of decorative ceramics featuring several items of varied manufacture and style. The collection includes a circular blue jasperware plate with white bas-relief classical figures and a laurel leaf border, together with a matching small blue jasperware jug. There is a large octagonal porcelain serving bowl decorated with a blue geometric and floral border. Floral-patterned pieces include a shallow saucer with a multi-coloured floral spray and gilded scalloped rim, a leaf-shaped porcelain dish or tea strainer, and a circular candlestick base with floral sprigging and a gilded edge. The lot also features a small cylindrical jar with a lid depicting a transfer-printed winter scene and the word LAPLAND. No manufacturer marks are visible in the images. Auction house labels numbered 155 and 2 are attached to several items.
Condition report:
The pieces are in generally good condition with minor surface wear and soiling consistent with age and domestic use. The jasperware displays typical light surface scuffs to the matte finish. Minor rubbing is present to the gilded highlights on the floral porcelain. No chips, cracks, or visible repairs are apparent from the overhead view.
