Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A Little Wanzer lock-stitch sewing machine, manufactured by the Wanzer Sewing Machine Company of Hamilton, Ontario. This antique portable machine is constructed from cast iron with a black finish and steel components. The design is characterised by a distinctive C-shaped upper arm and an ornate rococo-style scrolled base. It is operated via a spoked drive wheel featuring a wooden handle. The internal mechanism consists of a horizontal steel drive shaft connected to a vertical needle bar assembly. A rectangular metal bed plate is located beneath the needle bar area. The upper arm retains two modern adhesive paper lot stickers.

Condition report:

The machine is in poor condition showing significant signs of age and long-term storage. There is heavy surface oxidation and rust across the bed plate, drive shaft, and needle bar. The cast iron body is covered in an accumulation of dust, cobwebs, and white particulate matter. The needle is missing. The wooden handle remains attached but shows surface wear. The mechanical operation is untested and the components appear seized due to corrosion. The item requires extensive cleaning and restoration.
