Lot 146: A Trio of Antique Cut Lead Crystal Vessels with Stoppers
A trio of clear cut lead crystal vessels dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The collection comprises a handled cruet ewer and two scent bottles of varying sizes. The handled cruet features a notched handle and deep diamond cutting to the body, fitted with a faceted spire-form stopper. The smaller scent bottle is of globular form with fine criss-cross diamond cutting and a multi-faceted circular stopper. The larger scent bottle displays a complex strawberry diamond and fan cutting pattern, a star-cut base, and a faceted stopper. All items exhibit high clarity and sharp geometric cutting characteristic of quality lead crystal manufacture.
Condition report:
The crystal displays excellent clarity throughout with no evidence of internal clouding or sickness. The stoppers appear to be original and are present for all three pieces. The cutting remains sharp to the touch. No significant chips or cracks are visible; however, typical minor flea bites to the sharp edges of the cut patterns and light shelf-wear scratches to the bases are present, consistent with age and use.
