Lot 62: A Chinese Yixing Zisha Pottery Tea Set in a Presentation Box
A Chinese Yixing Zisha pottery tea set, comprising a teapot, multiple tea cups, and matching saucers. The set is crafted from unglazed dark brown earthenware clay, commonly known as purple clay or Zisha. The teapot features a rounded body with an arched handle and a short spout, decorated on one side with incised calligraphic characters and polychrome enamel highlights in green and red tones. The accompanying cups and saucers are of simple, undecorated form with a matte finish. The collection is housed in its original gold-coloured cardboard presentation box with a yellow fabric-lined interior. The inner lid features a printed illustration of figures in a landscape alongside a descriptive text panel in Chinese characters titled Introduction to Zisha Tea Sets (紫砂茶具简介).
