A pair of vintage leather tub armchairs, featuring curved wrap-around backs and arms in a design characteristic of early to mid-20th century French seating. The chairs are upholstered in brown leather, accented with brass-headed nail trim along the borders. The structures are raised on wooden frames with short, square-section legs. Each chair is fitted with a mismatched loose seat cushion: one in a plain beige fabric and the other in a tan and brown striped corduroy-style fabric. Small orange rectangular stickers bearing the number 1165 are present on the arms of both chairs. No manufacturer labels or marks were observed on the exterior of the pieces.
Condition report:
The leather is in a heavily distressed and worn state, exhibiting significant cracking, scuffing, and a deep aged patina throughout. The upholstery is generally intact but shows substantial surface wear. The wooden legs have minor surface abrasions. Both seat cushions are mismatched and in poor condition, showing significant staining and wear. Restoration is recommended.
