A mid-20th-century twin-pedestal desk of utilitarian design. The desk is constructed from a stained hardwood and features a rectangular top with a black-painted edge. The left pedestal contains a single cupboard door, while the right pedestal is configured with a single frieze drawer over a cupboard door. The piece is fitted with brass-effect metal cup handles. A circular metal lock is present on the right-hand drawer. The base of the pedestals is finished with a black-painted trim. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible.
Condition report:
The desk shows significant signs of age and functional wear. There are visible scratches, scuffs, and surface staining across the top and pedestals. The black-painted trim on the top edge and around the base of the pedestals is chipped and worn in several areas. No key is present for the drawer lock.
