A vintage electric sewing machine manufactured by The Singer Manufacturing Co. in Great Britain. The machine features a streamlined cast metal body finished in a two-tone tan and brown colour scheme, which is visually consistent with the Singer 185k model produced at the Kilbowie factory. The arm displays the brand name SINGER in large lettering, with the lower edge inscribed THE SINGER MANUFACTURING CO. and MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN. The unit is equipped with an integrated electric motor, a top-mounted tension dial with numerical settings, and various control levers. It is housed within a rectangular wooden base. A vintage spool of Dewhurst’s thread is currently attached to the spool pin.
Condition report:
The sewing machine is in used condition with visible surface dust and minor wear to the finish consistent with age. The machine is shown tilted back on its hinges, revealing the underside mechanical components and wiring. The electrical cord and internal drive belt are present; however, the unit has not been tested for mechanical functionality or electrical safety. The wooden base shows light surface scuffing.
