A large contemporary machine-made rectangular area rug, designed in a traditional Persian Kerman style. The rug is constructed with a short, dense pile, composed of synthetic polypropylene fibres. The central field is a deep emerald green colour, decorated with intricate floral sprays and foliate motifs in a palette of ivory, red, tan, and navy blue. This central area is framed by a complex, multi-layered border; the primary border displays a repeating palmette and scrolling vine design on a cream ground, bordered by several narrower guard stripes with geometric and floral patterning. The edges are machine-finished, and the reverse shows a typical uniform machine-woven grid.
Condition report:
The rug appears to be in very good, well-maintained condition. There is no evidence of significant staining, thinning of the pile, or fraying to the edges. The colours remain vibrant throughout.
