Lot 308: Antique Primitive Rustic Wooden Cricket Stool
An antique primitive rustic cricket stool or small bench of vernacular construction. The piece is fashioned from heavy-cut timber, possibly oak or elm, featuring a thick rectangular slab top with rounded corners. The construction is asymmetrical, supported at one end by a boot-jack style slab leg and at the other by a thick tapered peg leg. The components are secured with visible iron nails and wooden pegs, characteristic of folk-made furniture. The wood surface displays heavy patination and remnants of white residue. Two modern adhesive auction labels are attached to the piece.

Condition report:
Shows significant age-related wear throughout, including deep scratches, gouges, and heavy patination to the wood. Traces of white residue are visible on the surface. The asymmetrical leg configuration indicates a historic repair or composite construction. The overall condition is consistent with a utilitarian object of considerable age.
