A late 20th-century octagonal wall mirror, likely of Italian manufacture and attributed to the Allegro collection by the Bombay Company. The frame features a multi-tiered moulded design with a gilded finish. The outer edge is decorated with a fluted pattern, while the inner border surrounding the glass is a rope-twist moulding. Between these two borders is a wide, recessed band with a terracotta-coloured ground featuring a fine diamond-hatched pattern. This central band is further accented with four rectangular gilded cartouches containing stylized foliate scrollwork. The octagonal mirror plate features a bevelled edge.
Condition report:
The frame shows minor surface wear and light rubbing to the gilded finish consistent with age and use. All decorative elements and cartouches appear intact. The mirror plate is in good overall condition with no significant signs of foxing, clouding, or silvering loss.
