A collection of three vintage-style framed prints comprising two advertising subjects and one decorative scene. The first print features a reproduction advertisement for Fry’s Cocoa and Milk Chocolate, illustrating an elderly man seated next to a basket with a large white dog in the foreground. The second print depicts a child or cherub-like figure climbing into a roll-top bathtub in a room with black and white chequered tiling. The third print is a reproduction advertisement for The Singer Sewing Machine, including the slogan For Young or Old and depicting a woman at a treadle sewing machine. Each print is set behind glass with a light green card mount and housed in a matching rectangular frame with a dark faux-burl effect finish. These items are late 20th-century decorative reproductions of Victorian-era illustrations and trade cards.
Frames approximately 25.5 cm x 30.5 cm.
Condition report:
The glass on the central print depicting the bathing child is severely cracked diagonally across the centre. There is visible foxing, staining, and surface dirt on the mounts and prints, most notably on the Singer and bathing child examples. The frames exhibit general wear consistent with age and storage, including minor scuffs and the presence of adhesive price stickers.
