Lot 223: A Group of Moulded Plastic Wood Pigeon Decoys
A group of decoys modelled as wood pigeons, likely intended for sporting or agricultural use. The collection comprises several full-bodied decoys constructed from moulded plastic, showing visible construction seams. Some items feature a mottled dark grey and black plumage pattern, while others are finished in a uniform textured brown. Each bird is realistically shaped to mimic the form of a wood pigeon. Several items bear orange adhesive stickers with the handwritten inventory number 223, and one decoy has a small, illegible white sticker to the back. No manufacturer marks are visible.
Condition report:
The decoys are in well-used condition, showing signs of significant field use. All items exhibit widespread and heavy paint loss, peeling, and scuffing to the surface finish. One decoy has a large area of missing finish or white residue on its flank. General wear and scuffing is visible to the beaks and throughout the textured surfaces.
