Lot 21: A Trio of Spode Blue Italian Ceramic Herb Jars
A trio of earthenware canisters decorated with the blue and white Spode Blue Italian transfer-printed pattern. Each jar features a central landscape vignette depicting classical ruins and a large manor house by a river, framed by a wide border of stylised floral and scrollwork motifs. The set includes three cylindrical jars, two of which have matching domed lids with ball finials; one lid is missing. Two jars are labelled MINT and BASIL in uppercase serif type within decorative cartouches. No manufacturer backstamps are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces shown.
Condition report:
The jars appear to be in good condition overall. One lid is missing from the trio. There are no obvious chips, cracks, or signs of restoration visible. An orange adhesive sticker is present on one of the jar lids.
