Lot 193: An Assortment of Vintage Music Media, Instructional Material, and Storage Cases
This lot comprises a diverse collection of vintage media and music-related items. The primary component is a Play Rock Guitar instructional kit by DK Tutors, which includes an illustrated book and a compact disc featuring demonstrations and backing tracks. The collection features a large quantity of audio cassette tapes, many of which are home-recorded rock music compilations on TDK SA and TDK D series tapes, housed in a red plastic storage case. These are largely hand-labelled with titles such as Rock Music Vol. 2 through to Vol. 30. Other cassettes include commercial recordings such as Renewal and Reconciliation by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen and A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing. Also present is a selection of promotional and compilation compact discs, including Sounds of the Seventies, 1970s Hits of the Decades (Daily Star), a Disney Finding Nemo promotional disc, and a Robbie Williams exclusive disc from The Mail on Sunday. The assortment is accompanied by a quantity of loose sheet music and printed ephemera in a pink plastic crate, a blue circular Status branded lid or case, and a cardboard box containing further tapes, including a cleaning cassette.
Condition report:
The items are in varied, used condition. The outer cardboard sleeve of the guitar instructional kit shows significant tearing and wear. Cassette tapes and compact discs are in used condition and have not been tested for playback. Many of the cassette inserts contain handwritten titles. The plastic crates and storage boxes show expected signs of age and wear from storage.
