A late 19th or early 20th century pine swing dressing table mirror, also referred to as a psyche mirror. The rectangular mirror frame is suspended between two turned upright supports, each topped with a decorative finial. The mirror is adjustable via brass-coloured thumb-screws on either side to allow for tilting. The assembly is mounted on a solid, rectangular pine plinth base. An orange inventory sticker marked 720 and a smaller white sticker marked 7 are visible on the base. The construction and style are typical of late Victorian or Edwardian pine utility furniture.
Condition report:
The mirror plate is in poor condition, exhibiting heavy foxing and widespread silvering loss across much of the surface. The pine frame and base show signs of age and use, including minor scuffs, scratches, and light wear to the wood finish.
