Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A large wall mirror in the Rococo Revival style, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The frame is constructed from wood with gesso or plaster mouldings, finished in a distressed off-white or cream paint. The arched top is surmounted by a prominent pierced crest featuring C-scrolls, foliate motifs, and a central oval cartouche. The inner border of the frame is decorated with a beaded slip, and the base is flanked by scrolled feet. The mirror plate shows significant signs of age and degradation. No permanent manufacturer’s marks are visible. A small orange adhesive sticker is present on the upper frame with handwritten characters 47L, and a small white rectangular label with the character 7 is applied to the lower-left section of the mirror plate.

Condition report:

The frame shows general wear and surface distressing consistent with age, including minor losses to the decorative plaster elements. The mirror plate exhibits widespread foxing and silvering loss, most notably towards the lower section and edges of the glass.
