Lot 98: A Group of Decorative Blue and White and Black and White Ceramic Spheres
A group of glazed ceramic decorative spheres, commonly referred to as carpet balls or decorative orbs. The collection features a variety of transfer-printed designs in blue, white, and black. Patterns include dense light blue floral motifs, stylized daisies on a dark cobalt blue ground, scrolling foliate and cartouche designs, and a white leaf pattern on a black ground. Each sphere is finished with a high-gloss glaze. No maker marks are present, although one sphere bears an orange adhesive label with the number 86 or 98, and a small white label with the number 2 is visible on the accompanying box. These items are in the style of traditional Victorian-era carpet bowls.
Condition report:
The items appear to be in good condition overall. There are no obvious chips, cracks, or signs of repair. Some surface dust and minor scratches are present from storage.
