Lot 905: A Pair of Silver Napkin Rings with Repousse Foliate Decoration
A pair of circular napkin rings of silver construction. Each ring features a dense repousse and chased design comprising scrolling acanthus leaves and foliate motifs. Centred on each ring is an unengraved oval cartouche. The upper and lower rims are finished with a beaded border. The interior of the rings retains a light yellow-gold wash, identifying them as silver-gilt. Small rectangular hallmark punches are visible on the interior walls, though the specific characters and symbols are not clearly legible for definitive identification. The decorative style is consistent with late 19th or early 20th-century design.
