This lot comprises a pair of Nepalese kukri knives. Each knife features a forward-curving steel blade with a traditional kaudi notch near the bolster. The hilts are constructed from a dark material, likely water buffalo horn, decorated with metal bands and small white circular inlays, and finished with shaped metal pommel caps. The knives are accompanied by two black leather-covered wooden scabbards decorated with incised geometric patterns. Two small companion knives, a karda and a chakmak, are included, featuring matching dark hilts and metal bolsters.
Condition report:
The set is in fair to good used condition. The steel blades show surface patina and some pitting consistent with age. The hilts have minor scuffs and surface wear. The leather-covered scabbards show significant wear, particularly at the tips and throats where the leather is worn through or detached. A paper label is adhered to one scabbard.
