Lot 864: A Collection of Mixed UK and Irish Coins
A collection of mixed circulated coins from the UK and the Republic of Ireland. The group includes British decimal cupro-nickel 10 and 5 New Pence, bronze 2 Pence, and pre-decimal nickel-brass dodecagonal Threepence coins. Irish coinage is represented by a 1965 bronze Penny, nickel-brass Threepence hare type, cupro-nickel Shilling woodcock type, and Sixpence wolfhound type. Obverses include portraits of Elizabeth II and George VI with inscriptions ELIZABETH II D.G. REG. F.D. and GEORGIVS VI D:G: BR: OMN: REX. Condition report:
Mixed circulated condition ranging from good to very fine. The coins exhibit surface wear, contact marks, and abrasions consistent with bulk storage and circulation. Natural toning is evident across the collection, with localized oxidation and verdigris present on several examples.
