A collection of vintage brooches featuring various mid-20th-century designs and materials. The group includes a large three-tiered filigree flower brooch in silver-toned metal, featuring intricate wirework petals and a central stamen cluster. Also present is an elongated Art Deco style brooch with an openwork geometric and scrolling foliate design, heavily set with small marcasite stones. A further marcasite-set piece is designed as a five-leaf sprig with a light blue round cabochon to the centre. The collection also features a scrolling ribbon and floral brooch, similarly set with marcasites in a silver-toned mount. Completing the lot is a single gold-toned leaf brooch with a fine linear textured brushed finish. No hallmarks or maker marks are visible to the front of the pieces.
Condition report:
The collection is in fair to good vintage condition overall. All three marcasite-set brooches show evidence of missing stones. Significant surface tarnish and patina are present on the silver-toned items, consistent with age. The gold-toned leaf brooch appears in good condition with minor surface wear. Pin mechanisms are unverified.
