Lot 787: A Collection of Vintage British and Continental European Postcards and Ephemera
A collection of vintage postcards and associated paper ephemera, dating from the early to mid-20th century. The assortment includes a mix of colour-printed and monochromatic cards. Visible subjects include a mid-century colour postcard depicting an outdoor garden restaurant scene with a horse-drawn carriage and set tables, a black and white printed card of a classical male statue, and a landscape postcard featuring a wooded path with the French caption Une Allee…. The lot contains a large stack of additional obscured cards showing various subjects and printing styles. Several age-toned envelopes are included within the group. The items are stored in a reused cardboard box.
Condition report:
The collection is in varied, used condition. Evidence of age-related toning and yellowing is present throughout, especially on the envelopes. Minor foxing and wear to the corners and edges of several cards are visible. Items show typical signs of handling and storage.
