Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This oak dresser base is designed in the George II style, featuring a rectangular top with a thumb-moulded edge. The frieze is fitted with three drawers of equal dimensions, each decorated with two brass swan-neck handles on batwing-style backplates and a central brass escutcheon. The drawer section is positioned above a deep, scalloped apron with a shaped profile. The piece is supported by two cabriole legs to the front, which terminate in pad feet, and two straight, square-section legs to the rear. The oak construction displays a rich, medium-brown patina with visible graining across the drawer fronts and top surface. No maker’s marks or manufacturer labels are visible on the exterior or interior of the piece.

Condition report:

The dresser base exhibits wear and character marks consistent with age and use. The top surface shows various scratches, scuffs, and minor indentations. There is visible wear to the finish around the legs and feet. The brass hardware shows a natural aged patina. The structure appears overall solid and well-maintained with no significant structural damage or modern alterations visible.
