Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A rectangular oak box stool or storage side table in the 17th-century Tudor revival style, dating from the mid-20th century. The piece features a hinged lid that opens to reveal a shallow internal storage compartment. The front and side panels are decorated with relief-carved foliate and lunette scrollwork, typical of Jacobean-period designs. The structure is supported by four turned legs with block joins, integrated with a rectangular box stretcher for stability. The item is constructed from solid oak with a dark-stained finish. While no maker’s marks are present, the design is characteristic of mid-20th-century British manufacturers such as Old Charm or Jaycee.

Condition report:

The item is in fair to good used condition. The top surface shows significant signs of wear, including multiple scratches, small dings, and patches of finish loss and water marking. The interior compartment and carved panels appear to be in good order. The structural joints and hinges are intact and functional, though there is general scuffing to the legs and stretchers consistent with age and use.
