Lot 770: A Carved and Polished Marbled Stone Dolphin Sculpture
A carved stone sculpture depicting a leaping dolphin. The figure is crafted from a single piece of polished marbled stone, displaying characteristic swirling patterns and veining in shades of grey, blue-grey, and white. The dolphin is shown in a dynamic arched pose, supported by its tail fluke which acts as an integrated base. The entire piece has been finished to a high gloss. An orange rectangular sticker with the handwritten digits 770 is affixed to the tail. No maker marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The sculpture appears to be in good overall condition with a high-gloss polished finish. There are natural veins and colour variations inherent to the stone, including a prominent white vein near the head section.
