Lot 759: A Regency Style Flame Mahogany Bow-Front Chest of Drawers
A Regency style bow-front chest of drawers featuring highly figured flame mahogany veneers to the drawer fronts. The chest is configured with four long drawers of graduated depths, each finished with satinwood crossbanding and fine light wood stringing. The piece is fitted with eight brass oval backplate swing handles, each embossed with a sunburst or floral motif. It is supported on splayed bracket feet, often referred to as French feet, which are joined by a shaped apron. The top surface is currently fitted with a protective glass cover.
Condition report:
The chest appears to be in good, well-maintained condition with a high-gloss polished finish. No significant chips, losses to the veneer, or structural damage are evident from visual inspection. The presence of the glass top suggests the upper surface has been protected from wear.
