Lot 727: A William and Mary Style Oak Side Table
A William and Mary style oak side table, commonly referred to as a lowboy. The piece features a solid oak rectangular top with a moulded edge over a single long drawer. The drawer front is flush and fitted with two brass swing handles on butterfly-style plates and a central matching escutcheon. Below the drawer is a deeply scalloped and shaped apron. The base is constructed with four baluster-turned legs joined by a shaped X-stretcher featuring a central turned finial, all terminating in turned feet. Pegged construction is visible at the stiles. The oak shows a medium-brown finish with a visible grain.
Condition report:
The item is in good antique condition. There is surface wear, minor indentations, and light scratching consistent with age and use. The finish has a developed patina.
