Lot 72: An Assortment of Decorative Porcelain and Ceramic Items including Figurines and Cabinet Pieces
An assortment of decorative porcelain and ceramic items of varied origin and style. The collection includes a group of small white porcelain cherub figurines in diverse poses, alongside a small figural group of a person with a dog on an oval base and a twin-faced novelty dish. Featured is a large cobalt blue glazed pitcher with white applied floral blossoms in high relief. Tableware includes a circular lidded trinket box with a transfer-printed purple thistle design, a cobalt blue and gilt-decorated coffee cup with a fully gilded interior, and various floral-patterned porcelain pieces including creamers and a teacup. Also present is a blue and white saucer with a geometric border containing nested plain white cups, a porcelain ring tree, and a small rectangular pottery box depicting a cottage scene. Decoration techniques throughout the lot include transfer printing, hand-painted details, cobalt glazing, and relief work. Items bear white and orange auction labels with numbers 2 and 72. No manufacturer marks are visible on the exterior surfaces shown.
Condition report:
The items generally appear to be in good vintage condition. There is visible wear to gilded rims and surface decoration consistent with age. Due to the delicate nature of the figurines, minor chips or losses to extremities may be present. Some interior staining is noted on certain tea items.
