Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A matching ceramic wash pitcher and basin set, likely of British manufacture from the late 19th or early 20th century. The items are crafted from white glazed porcelain or high-quality earthenware, featuring a blue transfer-printed decorative scheme. The central motif on both pieces depicts a basket filled with roses, framed by elaborate foliate scrolls and stylized borders. Hand-applied gilding highlights the scalloped rims of both the pitcher and basin, as well as the high-arching handle of the jug. The pitcher is designed with an ornate, wide-lipped pouring spout, while the basin is of a wide, shallow form with deep fluting. The style and decoration are consistent with the output of Staffordshire potteries from this period, particularly resembling the Essex pattern. No manufacturer marks are visible on the exterior surfaces of the items.

Condition report:

The set appears to be in good overall condition. There is visible wear to the gilded decoration on the rims and handle, which is consistent with the age and intended use of the pieces. Two adhesive lot stickers are present on the interior of the basin. No significant chips, cracks, or professional repairs are visible from the provided perspective.
