Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises two mechanical clocks from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The first is an English wall dial clock featuring a circular mahogany-finish wooden frame and a hinged brass bezel with domed glass. The cream-painted dial is inscribed B. Arnold, 53, Chiswell St E.C., identifying the maker as Barnet Arnold of London. The dial displays black Roman numerals and a minute track. The second item is a Napoleon hat style mantel clock, also known as a tambour clock, in a dark wood case, likely oak. It features a decorative carved Greek key or fretwork border along the base. The dial shows Arabic numerals and pierced steel hands, with two winding apertures indicating a striking movement.

Condition report:

Wall clock: The hands are missing. The dial exhibits significant surface crazing and signs of age. The wooden case shows minor scuffs and marks. Movement is untested. Mantel clock: There is a notable chip and loss of wood to the front left corner of the base. The dial surface is heavily discoloured with accumulated grime. Movement is untested.
