Lot 456: A Pair of Cast Stone Pineapple Garden Finials
A pair of cast stone garden ornaments or architectural finials modelled in the form of pineapples. Each piece features a stylised, textured body with an imbricated, scale-like pattern, resting on an integral circular flared pedestal base. The ornaments are composed of cast reconstituted stone with a matte, light-tan finish, showing a weathered surface consistent with outdoor display. No maker’s marks or signatures are present. One item is marked with an orange adhesive label bearing the number 456.
Condition report:
Both items exhibit a weathered patina with surface pitting, mineral deposits, and minor abrasions appropriate for their age and material. There are small chips and nibbles to the edges of the pedestal bases. No structural cracks or signs of repair are evident.
