A three-branch candelabra table lamp in the French Rococo style. The lamp is constructed from cast metal with an antiqued gold-toned gilded finish. It features a central upright pillar supporting a single light socket, flanked by two scrolling arms terminating in light sockets with white plastic candle sleeves. Each scrolling arm is decorated with suspended faceted glass pendant droplets. The lamp stands on a decorative foliate-cast base. The item has been rewired with a modern gold-coloured electrical cord, featuring an inline thumb switch and a standard UK three-pin plug. No maker’s marks are visible on the piece. The stem is fitted with a small white adhesive label printed 2 2 and an orange inventory sticker marked 448.
Condition report:
Generally good vintage condition with surface wear and minor losses to the gilded finish consistent with age and use. The faceted glass droplets appear to be present. The lamp is fitted with a modern plug and cord; however, all electrical items are sold as untested. It is recommended that the buyer has the item inspected and tested by a qualified electrician before use. One light bulb is currently fitted.
