A decorative horizontal applique or swag in the neoclassical style, likely produced from cast composition or resin. The piece features deeply moulded relief decoration, including a large ribbon bow at the left terminal, which flows into a series of roses, smaller blossoms, and acanthus leaves. The item is finished with a pale blue or verdigris paint, accented by gilded highlights on the raised surfaces to create an antiqued appearance. This type of decorative element is frequently used as a furniture applique or as a crowning ornament for wall mirrors. No maker’s marks are visible; a small orange adhesive label with the handwritten number 433 is present on the central stem.
