An ornate oval wall mirror executed in the Rococo Revival style. The frame is constructed from wood and gesso or cast composite, finished in an antiqued gold gilt. It is heavily decorated with high-relief motifs including C-scrolls, acanthus leaves, and floral swags. The frame is further embellished with figurative elements, featuring a winged cherub mask amongst grapevines at the crest and a full-bodied seated putto holding a bow to the right-hand side. A further mask or foliate element is positioned at the base. The central oval mirror plate is set within a beaded inner border. Two identification stickers are present on the mirror glass.
Condition report:
The frame displays an aged patina with minor wear to the gilt finish consistent with age. The mirror plate is in generally good condition with minor surface marks and light dust; no significant foxing or silvering loss is visible.
