This collection comprises three framed prints depicting various bird species in a naturalistic style. The first is a landscape-oriented print of a drawing by Bryan Reed, titled TAWNY OWL, Juveniles (Strix aluco). The work depicts two young owls on a branch and is signed by the artist in pencil to the lower left margin, and numbered 5/500 to the upper right. It is presented in a light-toned wooden frame with a pale blue-bordered mount. The remaining two items are a pair of portrait-oriented prints after drawings by Eric Micklewright, dated 1972. One print depicts a woodcock and the other a partridge, both shown amongst long grass. The partridge print is inscribed with its species name to the lower right and signed Eric Micklewright 72 to the upper right. The woodcock print bears a matching signature. These two prints are housed in matching dark wood frames with gilt-effect inner beads and brown mounts.
Condition report:
The Bryan Reed print and mount appear to be in good overall condition. The mounts for the pair of game bird prints show significant signs of age-related toning and moisture staining, most notably to the upper portion of the partridge print. The frames exhibit minor scuffs and surface wear consistent with age and handling.
