Lot 37: A German Art Pottery style drip glaze earthenware pitcher with rope twist handle
This item is a glazed earthenware pitcher in the German Art Pottery style, featuring a bulbous body, a flared and scalloped rim, and a pedestal foot. The vessel is designed with a thick, twisted rope-work handle. It is finished with a glossy multi-coloured drip glaze in an organic palette of moss green, chocolate brown, and cream. This type of running glaze decoration was typical of art pottery produced in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. No maker’s marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on the piece. A small white adhesive inventory label numbered 15 is attached to the body.
Condition report:
The pitcher is in good overall condition. There are no obvious chips, cracks, or signs of restoration visible. The glaze retains a high-gloss finish with minimal surface wear.
