Lot 361: A Collection of Framed Artworks including European School Genre and Landscape Subjects
A collection of framed artworks across various mediums. The lot includes a vertical oil painting on panel depicting a dimly lit domestic interior scene with figures in the genre style, housed in an ornate, wide gilt composition frame. Also present is a horizontal watercolour on paper showing a coastal landscape with white cliffs and a small sailing vessel, set within a heavily scrolled gold-toned frame. A third vertical piece consists of a needlework portrait of a youth in 18th-century style dress with a prominent blue ribbon, presented in an elaborate carved gilt frame. Portions of further artworks are visible, including a work in a silver-coloured rococo-style frame. Adhesive lot tags numbered 361 and 342 are affixed to the frames.
Condition report:
The artworks generally appear in good condition with signs of age-related wear. Minor scuffs and small losses are visible to the frames, particularly at the corners and protruding edges of the composition elements. The textile work shows slight surface oxidation and tonal shifts consistent with age. Surfaces exhibit light dust accumulation.
