Lot 35: A Pair of Blue Jasperware Commemorative Items attributed to Wedgwood
A pair of blue jasperware commemorative ceramics, comprising a rectangular lidded box and a circular pin dish, attributed to Wedgwood. Each piece is crafted from unglazed matte blue stoneware with applied white sprigged bas-relief decoration. The lid of the rectangular box and the centre of the circular dish both feature a profile portrait of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Beneath the portrait on both items is a decorative ribbon scroll inscribed with the text HRH DUKE OF EDINBURGH. Both designs are encircled by a laurel leaf wreath border. These items are characteristic of the commemorative wares produced for royal occasions during the late 20th century.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good condition without apparent chips, cracks, or restoration. There is some minor surface dust and adhesive residue from price stickers and lot labels.
