Lot 342: A Pair of Mid-20th Century Galvanised Steel Industrial Buckets
A pair of nested utilitarian buckets of industrial design. These vessels are constructed from sheet steel with a protective galvanised finish. The body of each bucket is of tapered cylindrical form, featuring horizontal strengthening ribs to provide structural rigidity. The upper edges are finished with a rolled rim, and the buckets are equipped with heavy-gauge wire swing handles mounted to integrated lugs. A contemporary orange adhesive lot label marked 342 is affixed to the exterior of the outer bucket. No maker’s marks or other inscriptions are discernible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The buckets display a weathered, matte grey patina throughout, indicative of age and exposure. Surface oxidation and areas of light rust are present, notably around the rims, seams, and handle lugs. Both items exhibit signs of moderate utilitarian use, including minor surface indentations and surface scratches consistent with their age and function.
