Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A full-size violin, of 20th-century European manufacture and consistent with student or intermediate workshop production. The instrument is constructed with a spruce table and likely a maple back and ribs, featuring a traditional two-piece back. It is finished in a warm reddish-brown varnish with a subtle sunburst effect. The violin is fitted with a hardwood fingerboard and a tailpiece equipped with four integral fine tuners. A wooden chin rest is attached. No legible internal label is visible through the f-holes, though a paper label is present. The instrument is housed in a modern hard-shell carrying case with a blue plush-lined interior and a zipper closure. The case bears an orange inventory sticker marked 305. No bow is included with this lot.

Condition report:

The instrument is in poor, non-playable condition and requires professional restoration. The fingerboard is completely detached from the neck. The bridge is missing. The tailpiece is detached and held only by loose strings. There is a significant accumulation of surface dust, debris, and apparent rosin residue across the body. Visible scratches and wear to the varnish are present throughout. One tuning peg is missing.
