Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This lot consists of two domestic brass objects from the late Victorian or Edwardian period. The first is a conical fireside bin, designed in the Arts and Crafts style, suitable for logs or kindling. It features a sheet brass body with a visible vertical soldered seam, supported by a dark-patinated metal frame that forms the handle. The second item is a brass jug with a rounded, bulbous body tapering to a narrow neck and a flared rim. It is decorated with a repousse scalloped band around the shoulder and has a simple curved handle. Both items exhibit a warm, aged patina. Modern orange auction labels numbered 303 are adhered to both pieces, with an additional white label numbered 7 on the jug. No maker marks are visible on either piece.

Condition report:

Both pieces are in good vintage condition with signs of age and use. There is widespread surface tarnish and oxidation, particularly to the interior of the vessels and the frame of the log bin. Minor surface scuffs and small indentations are present, which are typical for utilitarian brassware of this age.
