A large, surface-mounted architectural door bolt designed in the Gothic Revival style. The piece is constructed from wrought iron and features a highly decorative backplate with elaborate scrolling, trefoil, and fleur-de-lis inspired motifs along its borders. The mechanism comprises a central sliding bolt bar with a rounded operation knob and a separate, matching keep mounted to the right side of the main plate. Multiple countersunk holes are located around the perimeter for mounting purposes. The item currently bears two modern adhesive labels: a white tag marked 2 2 and an orange price or lot tag marked 293. There are no visible manufacturer marks or stamps on the front of the piece.
Condition report:
The item is in salvaged condition with an authentic aged patina. There is extensive surface oxidation, heavy rust, and pitting across all wrought iron components. The sliding bolt mechanism appears to be complete and functional. No mounting screws or additional hardware are present.
