Lot 230: Royal Doulton Porcelain Figurine of a Galah HN 2738
A Royal Doulton glazed porcelain figurine depicting a Galah cockatoo (Eolophus roseicapilla). The bird is naturalistically modelled and shown perched upon a white, rocky-textured base. The plumage is rendered in characteristic tones of rose-pink for the breast and neck, with grey wings and tail, and a pale white crest. The underside of the base bears a green Royal Doulton factory backstamp featuring the lion and crown motif above a circular emblem. The mark includes the text Royal Doulton and Made in England, alongside the model name Galah and the model number HN 2738. Small, indistinct green and grey decorator marks are also present on the base.
Condition report:
The figurine is in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or evidence of repair. There are two adhesive auction labels currently attached to the piece: a white circular sticker numbered 7 on the bird\'s flank and an orange rectangular sticker numbered 230 on the upper surface of the base.
