Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of blue and white underglaze transfer-printed earthenware items, primarily of 19th-century Staffordshire style. The assortment includes a square serving dish with a deep well, decorated in a pattern resembling Spode Blue Italian, featuring a central romanticised landscape with classical ruins and figures, framed by an ornate floral and foliate border. Also included is a matching circular lidded tureen with a central finial and corresponding border decoration. The collection further contains a large oval platter decorated in the traditional Willow pattern, depicting the classic elements of a pagoda, a bridge with figures, a willow tree, and two birds in flight. Completing the lot are several plates of various sizes and two small handleless cups or bowls with floral transfer-printed motifs. The pieces appear to be manufactured from white earthenware or ironstone. No maker’s marks or backstamps are visible on the upper surfaces of the items shown.

Condition report:

The items exhibit signs of age-related wear and use. Significant crazing is visible to the glaze on several pieces, most notably the tureen lid and the square serving dish. There are areas of light staining and surface scratches consistent with the material\'s age. No major chips or structural cracks are immediately apparent from the visual inspection, though minor fleabites to the rims may be present upon closer examination.
