An assortment of decorative items comprising various ceramic vessels, trinket boxes, and accessories. The collection includes two ceramic lidded boxes in the form of thatched cottages with applied textured moss decoration, characteristic of mid-20th-century British cottage ware. Included are two small teapots: one white porcelain with a floral spray and another with a cane handle featuring Japanese-inspired transfer patterns. The lot contains several lidded trinket boxes, including a circular example with a bird and blossom design, and a square box with a central bird motif and gilded edging. Other ceramic items consist of a white sauce boat, a bulbous vase with blue floral decoration, a pear-shaped vase with yellow and blue trim, and a rectangular tray with pink rose transfer-printed decoration. A white ceramic ring dish is inscribed with the text Rings and Things. Glassware is represented by a clear moulded bowl with a starburst pattern to the base. The lot is completed by a large polished spotted cowrie shell and a partial Matchbox brand carton. Several items bear adhesive auction labels marked 19 and 191.
Condition report:
The items are in varied condition consistent with age and domestic use. Some pieces show evidence of surface wear, minor crazing to the glaze, and light scratches. No significant structural damage or major repairs are immediately apparent. The Matchbox carton is incomplete and shows signs of wear.
