This lot comprises a collection of silver-plated and stainless steel tableware. The centrepiece is a large, twin-handled silver-plated serving tray featuring an ornate shell and scroll-moulded rim with matching handles, and a central band of engraved foliate and scroll decoration. Also included is a smaller oval silver-plated dish with a scalloped, raised rim carrying several plain cylindrical silver-plated napkin rings. A contemporary modernist triangular-shaped dish, possibly an ashtray, is included, featuring a brushed finish and three integral U-shaped rests at the corners. The collection is completed by a boxed stainless steel butter dish set consisting of a plain rectangular dish and a matching butter knife with a decorative hammered handle, housed in its original blue and white illustrated card packaging. No maker’s marks are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The large silver-plated tray shows significant surface tarnish to the centre and rim, along with minor surface scratches consistent with age and use. The small scalloped dish and napkin rings exhibit moderate tarnish. The modernist triangular dish appears in good condition with only minor surface wear. The boxed butter dish set appears to be in unused condition, although the original card box shows light edge wear and multiple adhesive labels.
